Happy Thanksgiving 2012
The Thanskgiving tradition is one that carried over from the fall celebration of a bountiful harvest so common among the farmers of Europe, long before they made their way to the New World.
In the New World, it was celebrated as well for almost 100 years before the first Native Americans, of the Wamapanoag Tribe were invited to join. The first national Thanksgiving was declared in 1777 by the Continental Congress.
It has been celebrated on and off at the end of the Autumnal harvest ever since.
Today we gather with friends and family to enjoy a bounty of food and the fellowship of each other. Traditions that may have been added along the way are expected, and also a prayer will be said for those that aren't here to celebrated with us this year.
In our household, are prayers are for those that passed and a happy thought that we lost no one this past year.
I will also have a happy thought for the friends and acquaintances that I have interacted with here on ActiveRain this past year, and always a special thanks for the star that brought the Rain to my sphere.
I hope aLL enjoy the day and the rest of the Holiday Season, as well as a special wish that the next year will be more fruitful and bountiful for all. HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
Happy Thanksgiving 2012
