One of the most important aspects of preparing a house for a quick, profitable sale is in ensuring that it's rooms are not only clutter free and clean but that the space is properly organized and displayed.
In some cases the rooms in the house may have more furnishings than the space can handle. It may only be a matter of moving a piece of furniture from one room to another so the room presents more spaciously and flows well or it may mean totally rearranging a room and removing several pieces of furniture. Sometimes, granted these are rarer, there may not be enough furniture to properly showcase the space. In any case there are certain steps that should be taken to
identify how to prepare the room.
First, what are the special features in the room? Is there a fireplace that isn't used, or perhaps an interesting architectural feature, a stained glass window or maybe a large interesting piece of artwork? Rooms need a focal point that draws the eye and adds interest. Look for the focal point and use it. Furnishings should be placed for flow and presentation.
Next, what ambience is required for room? Is this a master bedroom that should provide a soothing retreat, or perhaps a large formal dining room that would be perfect for entertaining, or maybe there's a great space in the basement that would make a perfect "man cave". It's important to take these into consideration when deciding how to prepare the room.
Lastly, are the accessories in colors or tones that harmonize with the main furnishings? Do they compliment the required ambience of the room? Accessories can make or break the overall presentation of the room so its important that the furnishings and the accessories give the room the Wow factor it deserves.
