Prospect CT Tree Lighting and Chrtistmas Parade Sunday Dec 2
On Sunday, December 2 starting at 5:00 PM the town of Prospect CT will celebrate it's traditional Tree Lighting ceremony and the accompanying Parade of Lights in front of the Town Hall.
The Annual 'Festival of Trees' will run from 2:00 om to 5:00 pm on the same day in the Town Council Meeting Room in Town Hall. The trees come from local clubs and merchants from Prospect, all of whom paid $25 for a 3 foot tree, and decorated it specifically for the judging. The tree entries are judged in several categories.
This year, and in partnership with the Democrat Town Committee, The Republican Town Committee is going to utilize the 'Festival of Trees' to draw attention to the simultaneous 'Pack The Pantry' event where attendees will be asked to donate non-perishable (canned) foods or perhaps a cash (or check) donation to the Prospect Food Pantry.
The shelves at our Food Pantry (located in the basement of the Senior Center) are as bare as they have been in recent memory. Residents are encouraged to bring along non-perishable goods for the Pantry and drop them off at the Tree festival or at the Senior Center. Donations are always welcome.
