Vegetation and the electrical mast. Not good to combine them.

I was at a town house inspection on Saturday and was starting in front then the roof. I did'nt make it to the back of the home yet when I ran into what I thought was a "Medusa looking area".

The entire electrical mast was entangled with a vine that thought the electrical mast was it's own playground.

The vine belonged to the neighbor but was on the buyers side of the block privacy wall.

Take a look at this as I had seen it when inspecting the home.

This vine had been growing for some time.

It is all intertwined with the wiring on the mast.

Look down at mast.


Here is a look down the back wall of th home. Can you say fire anyone?

Here we have a view from the ground. Not a good situation for the vine that feels right at home on the mast.

It should be removed for safety's sake.

Vegetation shoukld never come in contact with any of the homes electrical systems.

This includes the electrical mast as well.

He would just tape it up a bit and call it good.

It all needs to come down and be cleaned up.

The buyers dad works for an electric company. He knows how to deal with the vine.

Yes it will take a lot of TLC for the vine removal. And they will need to be careful when "snipping the vine".

It will take a linemen to work this out. The buyers dad is a lineman for the electric company. I think he will do the work.

Hi Clint. While I've seen vines on homes, I don't think I've ever seen anything so dangerous. I hope they heed your advice to clean it up.
