Using Photoshop to Create After Photos Before You Start Work
I got a call from an apartment manager in Folsom, CA for an estimate to install some stacked stone to the end of some of the buildings. Stacked stone can add value to your property, makes for great curb appeal, and can help attract quality tenants.
The cost of materials can be high so it is a good idea to know what is involved and have a good sense of what it will look like before making that commitment. How can you do this? Well there are programs that can simulate the building materials, but I thought I’d try it with Photoshop.
The owners have an idea for the color and style of the stacked stone they are considering installing, so I searched for an image of that type of product. While the image had to be stacked, manipulated, and edited; it was possible to get a look at the product on the building before doing any work.
What if the owners do not like the after photo? Well, they may be happy that they didn’t spend a lot of money to learn that it wasn’t a good choice. There is a good chance that they may want to see a different product edited into that same photo – a new after photo. Much of the editing has been done, changing the building material wouldn’t take too long to do.
So if you are considering using stacked stone on your building, consider using Photoshop, or similar photo editing software to get a look at what the finished project will look like before starting. It may be well worth the effort.
