If you love pets and giving back to the community – this could be the perfect fit for you!
The St. Tammany Humane Society is looking for a few good men and women to become trusted volunteers.
The non-profit organization needs people to lend a helping hand at the shelter to walk and bathe dogs, socialize cats, show potential adopters the furry friends and also help with some administrative and maintenance duties.
You can also work at the off-site events. Those include adoption days, fundraisers, humane education in schools and any other community activities.
Foster parents are in need as well. Fostering an animal in need can be an amazing experience. Fostering not only gives the animal you take into your home a second chance at life but it saves the life of another animal heading into the shelter.
The St. Tammany Humane Society depends on the support of the community to keep its operation running and to continue to save the lives of animals.
It is the only non-profit animal welfare and sheltering organization serving St. Tammany Parish.
The shelter receives more than a thousand orphaned pets every year.
If you are interested in volunteering, you must do orientation which is held once a month at the shelter. Visit their website or call for the next orientation date!
