FAQ – Do you work weekends?

 

There was a time when I would have said yes, every weekend. I have found that I can get a lot more done during the week, while weekends can be harder to get many things done. Suppliers may not be open on the weekend, hardware store are crowded with the do-it-yourselfers, and scheduling can be troublesome.

So for the most part I no longer schedule to work on the weekend. There are things that I do – estimates, billing, banking and such – but you will not see me on the job site much. There are some exceptions but it would have to be a special situation.

Tom: Unless there's an emergency, there doesn't seem to be a reason that you would have to. Real estate agents, on the other, should and do. Here in Honolulu, open houses are on Sundays 2-5 without fail. Plus, if clients work during the week, they want to take the weekends to find something to buy. That's my feeling.

That's good that you are so busy.  We have been so busy that we need to do Sat appts/installs and we often find the customers that need these are some of our best customers (dual income working in the city).
