Calm Waters

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Calm WatersIn difficult and trying times for people I have noticed many people give "happy" advice. I see this in the real estate industry of late. Be a positive thinker they say. Put a smile on your face and things will be better. Have a good attitude. On the surface all this is fine, but I think it needs to be overlayed on what I call CALM WATERS.

People need to develop inner peace. Tranquility in their life despite the roller coaster nature of circumstances. You do this with a rock solid faith in family, friends, and your spirituality. Believe in yourself. Maintain positive self-talk. When agitation or trouble or negativity comes your way, pause at first and don't react. Reclaim the calm waters that have been inside you all along to tap into. Then everything will be fine.

Gary,

Very true. I often take a step back and reflect on crows and sunsets or just the shade of the sky when I come up against something that is troubling me. Usually the answer is revealed by doing this.

When it comes to negativity, I do my best to limit exposure to it....

Gary...Sometimes I'm able to do exactly that and other times it's as though I haven't learned a thing and just react from the gut.  Taking a minute is much better.  I wish I did it more often.

Thank you.

Diane: Who can't enjoy that peaceful easy feeling?

Arina: Thanks for stopping by. If your core is at peace, everything else will work itself out. I'm a big believer in taking big breaths and (being quiet) in times of turmoil, before making my next move. It's very powerful! You just have to have that peace inside to deal with everything that comes at you on the outside.

Gary - Thanks for the great photo.  Exercise and Pilates work for me.  Even though the stress of running (and paying for) three offices gets to be a bit overwhelming in this market, my stress level is reduced by a regular fitness routine.  We WILL make it through this business cycle.

I've been trying lately to remember that it's my choice whether to adopt a negative attitude or not... now instead of automatically heading down that road, I stop and think about it and can usually leave it where I found it.  Life is too short to spend all our time navigating choppy waters.

Gary,

Keeping your cool in any situation is the best advice.  Even in a disagreement or argument, if you keep calm, it will not escalate into a battle.

Like we said in the 70's, peace, brother.

I felt the same way just a couple days ago.  I needed serenity and a touch of "Spring", so I added a photo with flowers to one of my posts.

That's a gorgeous photo with the clouds and water scene..good therapy!
