Agents who don't call you back during a negotiation?!!?

Fellow agents, has this ever happened to you?   As both a listing agent and a buyer's agent this has been the case a couple of times this year and it shocks me. Getting in touch with another agent DURING an ACTIVE NEGOTIATION is like trying to reach the Pope on a Sunday.  For a week.  Or two.  I just don't understand.  Isn't this your full time job?  Can you not get in touch with your client?  It can be so frustrating, but also consider how unprofessional you look to my client.  Obvioiusly, in both cases there was no transaction.  Is it this hard for your clients to reach you?   One of the biggest keys to success in our profession is quick response times, not only to our clients, but each other.  Especially in our muliti million dollar markets of New Canaan, Darien and Greenwich.  I don't suppose there is a solution here because there are many types of agents out there, but please comment if you can empathize.

Hi Nicole,

Like you said there are all types of realtors and those posing as realtors. One thing I did notice is that successful agents are usually those who answers their phone.

Nicole, It is baffling isn't it?  Parttime or fulltime, we've seen it to a certain degree with both categories of agents.  Even if the only communication is "nothing new", or "got it", that at least lets us know something has been received.
