Where are the Slobbits? And why do they like California?
As you know I like to play a game called “Where are the Slobbits?” Slobbits are like Hobbits only they are sloppy. They eat a lot, are basically lazy, and don't like to wear shoes. The tend to get into all kinds of mischievous and are really very lovable.
Well when Slobbits travel I take pictures of them and post them. People get to guess where the Slobbits are at. California is a great place for Slobbits. There are so many things in California from beaches to mountains, from sandy deserts to snowy peaks. Vast rivers and deltas, the ocean, and waterfalls. Big Cities and Wide Open Spaces. Skyscrapers and Farms. You can find it in California. Even our beaches are different. In the south you have sandy traditional bikini babe wearing beaches to your rocky and rugged coastline of the north.
But Slobbits do not care so much about what things look like – Well - Slobbits Just Want to Have Fun! (Sounds like a song). So one day we take the Slobbits out of school and head up on one of the last warm autumn days to one of California's great sites – Yosemite. Do the Slobbits care about the towering cliffs, the interesting science and history (OK they did like that some), the waterfalls and all the hiking trails – NO! Here is what the Slobbits want to do:
Actually this was a very nice trip and all they wanted to do was swim so we found this wonderful pool in the Merced River. Oddly enough we also found the old fishing spot my dad used to take me to some 40 years ago and I got to reminiscence and shed a tear or two.
Any way there are always lots of nice places and fun things to do in California. Bring your Slobbit!
