Homes for Sale in a Good Neighborhood

As Exclusive Buyer Agents, we spend our days with home buyers. Our clients come from all over the world to live in the Greater Washington DC area. Showing these home buyers Metro neighborhoods is the fascinating part of our work. It also offers the opportunity to discover-

What defines a "Good" Neighborhood?

When Marshall and I bought our home, our son was three years old and I was pregnant with our daughter. Neighborhood safety was at the top of our "must haves" home buying list. If a house sat on a street with a double yellow line, we didn't consider it an option. Cul-de-sac's and dead end streets were at the top of our list since traffic would be minimal.

A Good Neighborhood for Us  included a big yard with lots of trees. Marshall is a hiker from Oregon and we both love the outdoors. A good neighborhood for us meant trees, space and privacy surrounding our home. As we worked with our Exclusive Buyer Agent with Buyer's Edge, we weeded out homes that did not meet our criteria.

And finally, we needed to be within walking distance of the Metro. Metro currenty has 47 subway stations with the Silver Line under construction now. (The Silver Line will transport people to Dulles International Airport by way of Tysons Corner, Reston, Herndon and Ashburn Virginia)

Since I was born in Washington DC, I felt the need to stay connected to the city. Living near a Metro subway station made me feel more like a city girl.

And that's our definition of a Good Neighborhood We live in a house that sits on a cul-de-sac on a larger lot with a backyard that looks like a park. Metro is about a fifteen walk from our front door. The bonus is our close knit neighborhood is like a second family. It's been a wonderful fifteen years since our first families are on the West Coast and Maryland's eastern shore.

How do you define a Good Neighborhood? House styles, lot sizes and walk-a-bility factor into the definition of a  "good neighborhood". Access to Metro stations, schools and parks are factors too.

Home buyers today want more than a home, they want a community and quality of life. We understand this as a top priority. We are experts at finding homes, neighborhoods and communities that offer the quality of life you want. We have access to the most current houses for sale and offer expert property evaluation.
