I love snow photos, don't you? And thisone made a sweet backdrop to these lovely words of encouragement.
My granddaughter and I had planned to go to church together, but we are playing it safe and staying off the roads. So instead, I'll listen to a favorite pastor's sermon online along with plenty of praise and worship music and be blessed at home. I sent her a link to him as well and thought I'd share the info with y'all as well.
Pastor Joe Focht is a fellow baby boomer and grandfather as well as being the head pastor at Calvary Chapel Philadelphia. He teaches verse by verse through the Bible and his sermons are always interesting, intriguing and full of humor.
They have Bible studies available for every book of the Bible, along with special conferences they've hosted such as women's conferences, men's conferences, prophecy conferences, and more.

It's kind of interesting to think that up until just the last few hundred years, people generally learned about God from hearing ONLY. There were no Bibles for the most people, let alone pen and paper to write things down. I'm very grateful we live in a time when we DO have plenty of Bibles, pens, paper, books, etc.
But I'm also grateful we live in a time with iPhones, iPods, mp3 files, etc., so we can read AND hear the Word of God at church, at home, in the car, on the run around town, etc. It's very helpful for all of us whether we are busy helping real estate clients or caring for elderly parents or babysitting grandkids or... And definitely quite Scriptural, as the verse from Romans 10:17 reminds us, "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ."
What do you do when you can't get out to church, whether due to illness, extreme weather, etc.? We'd love to hear.
