In the real estate world we are all required to maintain some amount of education in order to renew our license, as are various other professional occupations. Chances are, someone took the time to set up the classes, schedule the rooms and the instructors and handle getting the attendees to the classrooms right? A lot of work has gone into getting these classes to you. So here are some good rules of thumb:
1. R.S.V.P. if requested to do so. R.S.V.P. stands for a French phrase, "répondez, s'il vous plaît," which means "please reply." This helps the coordinator know how many attendees to set up for.
2. Show up on time (or even a few minutes early) - if this is difficult for you try leaving a few minutes early - it really works!
3. Turn the sounds off on ALL your gadgets - including those little click, click sounds your tablet or phone makes when you are typing.
4. If you must answer a call while in class please leave the room to do so.
5. If you must have a long sidebar conversation with a classmate please leave the room to do that as well. Even whispering is distracting in a classroom.
These are just the basics of common courtesy but can go a long way in showing respect for your instructor as well as your fellow students. Anyone have any to add?
