Still in need of some pumpkins for your Halloween celebration? Then the pumpkin patch at Immanuel Church on the Hill in Alexandria, VA is where you need to head. The church is located at 3606 Seminary Road, just west of Quaker Lane and the grounds still have a great assortment of sizes for you to pick from... grab a wagon and feel free to load it up as much as you want!
This is the 21st year of the sale, which has grown a huge following in the community. The pumpkins are grown on the Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico as part of fair trade arrangement with over a thousand churches across the country, which a portion of the proceeds going back to the Navajo Indian Reservation which support hundreds of jobs there.
Beginning on the first Sunday in October, it starts with the unloading of two tractor trailers with the initial delivery and runs daily from 10 am to 8pm. It isn't just about pumpkins; there are also gourds & corn for decorating, and scrumptions foods for sale... including their famous apple crisp. This annual fund raiser for the congregation is completely volunteer driven and benefits over 20 charity organizations in Alexandria, as 100% of the profits are donated to work in the city.
