Finding the time to Work Out - You really can!

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with NCS Premier Real Estate Michigan Broker

Sometimes it seems as if there's no time to put in for a good work out.  Well, there really is time and it's just changing the little things that you do, can make a big difference in helping you become healthier.

If you're at a computer for a long time, take a few walk around breaks - make it a point to walk in place for 5 minutes.  What about taking the steps instead of the elevator.  You can also park your car further away than your normal spot up front. It's just really a matter of thinking before you just go right into your regular routine. You really don't have to go to the gym to get a good workout, on your lunch hour if weather is permitting take a walk around your building or parking lot.  The more steps you take will lead you to a healthier you. Don't forget to drink more water.  If you're like me, I like to snack during the day, so make sure you have carrots, protein bars, and lots of grab and go fruit when you're looking for something sweet to eat. Start off small and just watch the results.  You'll feel better inside and outside!

I spent three hours in the wave pool at Aquatica today.  Now that was a workout.

Graziella, I need to time my work outs between when my back is aching or not. Lately my 14 year old daughter has pestered me back into doing sit-ups with her. My petite little girl has been able to do 100 military style sit ups since she was about 10 years old. I've slowed down to 40. Oh to be young again.

I got a fitbit bracelet from my broker for Christmas. He gave one to everyone in the office. It tracks steps. My office also has an incentive program for every month we go over our average steps from the month before. It's so easy to track, and I love it. I would recommend the fitbit bracelet to anyone that wants to get more exercise. You can easily track your progress, steps and other things like sleep patterns.

Great idea on the bracelet - thanks Debbie Laity - I use the walking steps app on my phone - trying to maintain the 10,000 steps a day, it's not easy, but it will make you want to reach your goal.

You can do it Kevin B. Tolbert PA Team Keller Williams Realty of Port St Lucie - just start with something small - remember baby steps!

Good for your daughter Bob "RealMan" Timm - do situps on the ball - it won't hurt your back.

I need to be in a nice warm pool about now Dee Toohey - enjoy, I love the water.

Graziella, we have an elevator in our building that I've been on a half dozen times or so and only because of others. I do my best to stay on a regular workout routine...not always easy, but I can sure feel the difference if I lay off for a week or so.

I like that you have blogged about doing something healthy for yourself. Staying healthy makes a big difference in your every day performance. The outward appearance of health reflects an inward ability to care for things, such as clients and tasks. It's always nice to have a friendly reminder such as your blog entry to remind us of that! Thanks Graziella

I agree with you: anyone can, but not everyone wants. It is much easier to find a reason not to do. But your health is more important than anything else. By disciplining yourself to exercise regularly and to eat carefully, you will live a happier life.
