What Are You Reading These Days ... from Ocean City, New Jersey

I almost hit 70 books in 2014.  That might have been a record.  I do much more reading living in Ocean City, New Jersey than I did anywhere else.  Fall, Winter, and Spring tend to be great time frames "for reading" because there are limited numbers of people around Ocean City.  Fall and Spring does have increased numbers, but the week days tend to be quite low in population ... just the 10,000 regulars who do whatever they normally do.

Winter is the major time frame ... simply no one is ever around that much.  And with the severe cold weather, it is even more quiet around town.

Of major importance is the requirement of a good public library, a functioning bookstore or two (in our case a store highlighting the most recent books and a paperback store with used books).

Some recommendations:

THE ESCAPE by David Balducci ... one of his best books

NAPOLEON:  A Life by Andrew Roberts ... 700 plus pages, interesting

CANE & ABEL by James p ... a great mystery writer

INSATIABLE  APPETITES & PARIS MATCH by Stuart Woods ... my favorite mystery writer

RAIN ON THE DEAD by Jack Higgins ... British mystery writer

INDEPENDENT ED by Edward Burns ... an actor and director talking about his start

NIGHT OF THE ASSASSIN by Russell Blake ... new mystery writer for me

41:  A PORTRAIT OF MY FATHER by George W. Bush ... a good book

THE KEEPER by John Lescroaft ... a mystery writer I occasionally read.

(Dustin A. Peters is a major mystery reader balanced by some very long historical novels.  And he is a real estate agent in Ocean City, New Jersey.)
