Nick and Cindy Davis have offered up some great advice on strategies to shave years off of your mortgage. Considering your mortgage payment will probably be the largest payment you will ever have, and the interest you pay on the loan will be a lot no matter what, this advice can be very beneficial. After all, who wouldn't want to pay off their home loan 10 years early, save $300 a month, or save $70,000 in interest over the life of your loan.

 Never had a mortgage over 10 years if you start that way you don't weasel out, I have always bought about double each time using my equity till I bought this 600k home and put little over 300k down.

Troy, we are big believers in paying OURSELVES not mortgage companies. So, we've often opted for 15 year loans and even did a 10-year loan which was REALLY hard to come by! (They sure want their interest payments....)
