Downsizing - It Can Open New Possibilities

Hudson River Views

Can you imagine leaving a huge home only to feel a tad cramped? That is what a good deal of boomers say when they finally sell their giant sized homes after raising a family in with tons of space for everyone. Finding the perfect place to downsize to is a difficult process. Frequently less space leads to much compromising of lifestyle. Thing is, bigger is NOT always better!

Downsizing has its benefits!

Some new locations in the area are catering to this market, but they are few and far between. Many of us that are downsizing turn to condos, smaller homes and now it has recently become quite clear to me that a waterfront home could be the answer. By replacing all the interior space with a deck and panoramic views, the need for a giant sized home can disappear. A smaller home, like this condo complex could work. Less maintenance to deal with, no roof to repair and a simple lifestyle can be spent on the deck instead.

Imagine waking up to this view each and every morning! I'm sold on this concept. In a year or two when I move, the priority of my new home will be function and for it to have some special views. Anyone else think this makes sense??

I am getting very close to downsizing and hopefully the outside work disappears as well.

You have that right Ed Silva My idea of outside work is drinking a glass of wine on my deck with a view.

Any relocation is often stressful and time-consuming, but rarely do we wonder about the impact the process has on the environment. This is amplified when moving to a smaller house or condominium, and additional decisions have to be made regarding items that must discarded in order to save space.
