Every Day is something for someone. Two days ago it was National Dog Day and everyone posted pictures of their pups online and on Facebook. Last Saturday was Clear Out the Shelters Day and there were stories and pictures of old adoptions and pets saved in the past. Today is just a Friday in August and dogs across this country are being abused and ignored and lead to their deaths. Shelters are difficult places and rescue groups have limited funds and people. Don't wait for a special day: go adopt a dog who has no one or nothing. You will save a life and improve the quality of your own. Please adopt and do it now, a Friday in August.
Sorry Barbara-Jo. I suspect I am older than you but each to their own. TY Sheila
Thanks Brian. Chico is fine and so are the others but not totally accepting of him yet. Sheila
Hello again Paul. The Shepard was lucky that you found and cared and loved him. Sheila
Thank you Endre. Sheila

Our pets will always be rescues. They are so appreciative of the unconditional love and kindness.

Sheila, these are always hard posts for me to read. I click on the AnimalRescue Site every day to give free food to shelters and I have to shy away from the daily story because sometimes it's just too much.
I would open my home, yard, barn, etc. to ALL creatures if I could! Larry (myhubby) has me feeding the elk out of my hand soon once we live full time at our ranch. I don't think that will happen, but gosh you never know!

Good morning Sheila. If I had the land I know my wife would take in all that we could take care of. Sadly we don't.

Good morning Gayle. An elk......now that's something I would like to see. I know your heart and appreciate it. TY Sheila
Amen, Sheila. There is no bad time to rescue a pet in a shelter. It's their best day, and it might even be the same for the rescuer.
