We join you in remembering those whose lives were taken.
As we take time to reflect on the 14th Anniversary of a day none of us will ever forget, let us come together to grieve, to remember, to express our gratitude to those who demonstrated what it is to be a hero, and to pledge ourselves to live in honor of their bravery.
There are so many tributes going on today. At the Pentagon this morning - commemorations began in with an unfurling of the American flag. This tradition began Sept. 12, 2001.
Please take time to visit the many tributes in the area. Here are a couple of tributes going on in DC: School children and veterans will gather on the National Mall to take part in a day of service to help military families. If you would like to participate, go to the Reflecting Pool between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
In honor of the lives lost in the attacks, the 5th annual "Muslims for Life" blood drive will also take place on Capitol Hill at 9 a.m.
I will never forgot and today I pray for the families and our great nation!
