The Greater Louisville Association of Realtors have released their latest year-over-year numbers for real estate sold in the Louisville market, and also real estate listed for sale.
They release their year-over-year numbers weekly, and there are of course many variables that can affect them from one year to another. Some of which could be weather, which affects the numbers more so during the coldest and snowiest weeks of winter, and perhaps in some demographic/markets, the hottest of days of summer.
In Louisville, another factor that can affect new listings is the numbers of games (UK, UL, WKU, ,etc.) that are being played as home games on a weekend.
Suffice it to say, sports are big in our area, and when there are games being played locally, many sellers don’t want to list their homes that day, or don’t want to hold their homes open as open houses. Buyers don’t attend open houses on those days sometimes too!
Below are the most recent numbers, and as you can see we see a drop for both new listings, and also sold properties. This continues a trend that we have seen almost every week this year.
