- Arizona Restaurant Week and Vincent on Camelback -

I always look forward to Arizona Restaurant Week as many of the top restaurants in town participate with a set menu to showcase their favorite entrees, or to present a new and exciting entrée or dessert.

Vincent on CamelbackThis year I went to Vincent on Camelback with some friends. It has been on my list of restaurants to visit since we moved to Scottsdale and this was the perfect opportunity. Vincent Guerithault opened Vincent on Camelback 1986. Prior to opening his own restaurant, Vincent was given worldwide recognition by Craig Claiborne, the food editor of the New York Times as being an exceptional chef. Since then, he has earned many prestigious international awards. His restaurant continues to be awarded accolades by the Wine Spectator and has been among one of the Best Arizona Restaurants since 2009. Vincent also features the Vincent Market Bistro, adjacent to the restaurant, as well as an outdoor Saturday Farmers Market in the parking lot and a catering operation.

There were four of us dining and between us we were able to sample several of the wonderful dishes being offered.  As an appetizer we ordered the Lobster Ravioli with Chipotle Beurre Blanc. (Vincent is known for adding a southwestern touch to his dishes). I ordered the Heirloom Tomato Tart in a Parmesan Crust and savored the buttery crust that blended so well with a variety of heirloom tomatoes.

Heirloom Tomato Tart Vincent on CamelbackAmong us we ordered the Beef Tenderloin with Herb Butter and Pommes Lyonnaise and the Lemon Sole with Olive Oil and Heirloom Tomatoes.  I chose the fish dish, but couldn’t resist a taste of the amazing beef tenderloin – It was perfectly cooked and accented beautifully by the Pommes Lyonnaise.

Dessert was the perfect ending to a beautiful meal.  Delicate traditional Crepes Suzette was my choice and I made the right decision.  The sauce was perfectly flavored with orange sauce and truly melted in one’s mouth.  Our guest ordered the “Jack Daniel’s” Pecan Pie – another decadent and delicious dessert.

This was my first visit and I loved the old world design of the interior, including the beautiful tapestries on the wall and dark wooden furniture. From the warm greeting of the valet to the exceptional service during dinner, it was an evening to remember.
