Why I Love Living and Working in Colorado Springs

Real Estate Agent with The Platinum Group Realtors

Although I am extremely biased when it comes to Colorado Springs, because I have lived here for a large part of my life, there are so many reasons to love it here, and I believe most people can agree. Since many residents seem to end up in this city due to military occupations, they don't always see how wonderful their relocation can be. Colorado in general is beautiful, but Colorado Springs offers the prospects of a large city while still maintaining it's Colorado splendor and mid-size town feeling.

The Springs is right up against the beautiful Rocky Mountains, or more specifically Pikes Peak. Not only do most of us residents wake up to the gorgeous view, but we can take part in all of the outdoorsy activities the mountains have to offer without getting the brunt of the snow storms. Being at the foot of the mountain seems to act as a sort of shield from the piles and piles of snow the surrounding areas such as Monument and Woodland Park get. Mountain biking, hiking, and rock climbing are just minutes away. While other sports such as skiing, kayaking, and rafting require a bit longer trip, they are not too far off either. Not to mention, the amount of sunshine year around lets us hike throughout the entire year.

Even more, the city offers fantastic bike paths that are great for road biking or more tame mountain biking excursions. Runners also love these bike paths. The Santa Fe Trail is especially beloved as it runs through a great chunk of Colorado. I especially like to go for a jog or take my family on a bike ride on the Santa Fe Trail during the Summer season.

The sense of community in Colorado Springs is also one of my favorite attributes. Even though it is a relatively large city, it still maintains a small town feeling. I run into friends and acquaintances every day. I have fallen in love with the people. Everyone is so friendly. When I run on a bike path or even walk down the street, strangers wave and say hello. There are also organizations, events, and clubs for everyone's taste. Of course there are numerous churches for specific preferences, but also hundreds of volunteer opportunities, outdoorsy and indoorsy clubs.

I love living and working in Colorado Springs because every day I am surrounded by wonderful people and a beautiful environment that offers and array of endless activities. Why do you love the Springs?
