Gilbert bank owned home for saleGilbert Arizona bank owned, or REO’s (Real Estate Owned) homes are properties owned by a bank or mortgage holder. These properties came from homeowners that fell behind on their payments for one reason or another, and were foreclosed on by the bank or mortgage holder. During the foreclosure auction, no one successfully bid on these properties, so they reverted back to the banks or mortgage holders. Banks or mortgage holders aren’t in the business of owning homes, so they are looking to sell them as soon as they can, usually at a discounted price.

Gilbert bank owned homes for saleBank owned homes may require a little more work than other resale homes for sale in Gilbert, but often just require cosmetic things like paint and flooring. Although there are fewer Gilbert foreclosures these days, and therefore fewer bank owned homes and REO's available in Gilbert, you will find most of them will be below current market value, providing instant equity.

Hi Troy Erickson ,  I've sold quite a few bank owned properties around here. A buyer can get a great deal on a home, it they are handy on repairs for many of them.

Larry - Yes, many of the homes do need some handyman repairs for sure. Most are in better shape these days than they were back in the day of the housing downturn.

You have provided good information about the REO properties in Gilbert AZ. REO's are not for every buyer but some are in great shape and need very little if any work.

Debbie - You are right that REO's are not for every buyer. These days the REO's are usually in much better condition than back in 2008-2011.

I have a friend who is now a snowbird, got herself into Arizona through an REO.  She's also asking me to consider, fool that I am, I keep on thinking the world revolves on the East Coast and I need to stay in this time zone.

Maybe yet another trip to Phoenix will set me right.

Claude - Now is the time to visit. Perhaps you need to try the snowbird thing at first, and if you really like it here, you can stay all year long. I must warn you, things are a bit more casual here, and not like the hustle and bustle of the East Coast.
