Katy TX Does Have Museums
Yes Katy TX does have a few museums of its own. Katy Heritage Museum is a 9,600 square foot attraction in Old or Historic Katy. This museum features vintage farm equipment and artifacts from Katy’s fairly long agricultural and pioneering history. There are numerous old photographs and some cool antiques. The Museum is physically located at 6002 George Bush Dr. Katy TX and is near to the VFW Park. Katy Heritage is open Thursday through Sunday 11 AM until PM. There is no charge for admission! Tough to beat a deal like this these days. Special tours are available for clubs, Schools and groups.
Inside the same VFW Park area as mentioned above is the Katy Veterans Memorial Museum. This museum has been given the nickname of ‘The G.I. Joe Museum and local residents call it a first-class military exhibit of huge historical value which covers every foreign conflict involving the United States. This museum is located inside the VFW Community Building. Katy Veterans Museum is open Monday through Friday 9 AM until 4 PM. Once again there is no charge but memberships are available and certainly donations are always welcome.
If you are looking for some family things to do together and want to stay in the local area to avoid Houston Traffic then consider coming to either or both of these museums.
