Ready, set, snow!

Hello everyone! We still can't believe 2016 is here. It doesn't feel possible but the cold of January is in full swing and you can tell the New Year has begun! Here's hoping that Punxsutawney Phil doesn't sees his shadow this year and we can an early sping. For many of you, Hillsborough and Orange County included, we're all preparing for a lot of snow and a lot ice. Here's hoping many of us southerners remembers are training from the snow last year and we all stay nice and safe. If you do have to go out in the weather, here are a few things to remember when driving in the snow according to AAA:

1. Accelerate and decelerate slowly.
2. Drive slowly.
3. The normal dry pavement following distance of three to four seconds should be increased to eight to ten seconds.
4. Know your brakes.
5. Don't stop if you can avoid it.
6. Don't power up hills.
7. Don't stop going up a hill.
8. Stay home.
