I am very often inspired in the Q&A section to write about ActiveRain and blogging questions that get asked there. Tonight it was not really the question that inspired me so much as the answers. It's a public question so I'm just going to link to it and let you go and read it for yourself.
I'm not sitting in judgment for what any agent would do. But I know what I would do. I have a duty to my sellers that when someone who might potentially be interested in their property to get them the information. Yes, I'd be grumbling while I was doing it if the agent who called me wasn't doing what I considered to be a good job. But still while I was grumbling about doing something that I might not really should have to do, I would still do it.
I have shown homes I had listed to buyers who had their own agent because it's the best thing for my seller. I've met home inspectors for agents who could not attend because it's the best thing for my sellers. I've sent information to buyers with other agents who requested it on my listing because it's the best thing for my sellers. I've sent information on my listings to agents who are not in my MLS because it's the best thing for my sellers. I've met other agents to unlock the house when they don't have access because they either aren't a local MLS member or don't have lockbox key because it's the best thing for my sellers.
I guess you get the point. Even when it might not actually be something that feels like I *should* be doing it and that the other agent should be doing it, I do it because it's the best thing for my seller. All the agents at Lane Realty do the right thing for our sellers even when it's one of the things where we go above and beyond because the agent on the other side hasn't or isn't doing what should be their part. We put our clients first. When you hire us to sell your home, we're going to do everything in our power to get that done.
