Some of the best athletes in the world are endurance athletes. They train for the long haul. The Lake Havasu 2016 IJSBA Mark Hahn Memorial 300 honors this with their 300 mile endurance race this Saturday, February 27th.

Lake Havasu 2016 IJSBA Mark Hahn Memorial 300

Mark Hahn was an endurance athlete who was crucial in advancing the sport in the US. Unfortunately, his life was cut short in 2004 while competing in a PWC race. It is in his honor that the Lake Havasu 2016 IJSBA Mark Hahn Memorial 300 will be run.

Personal watercraft (PWC) racers from, literally, all over the world will be coming to our little neck of the woods to compete in the Lake Havasu 2016 IJSBA Mark Hahn Memorial 300 this weekend. Last year, racers from as far and wide as Japan, Chile, Australia, Russia and Belgium made it to our Havasu community for a run at the title. As you can imagine, this competition brings out some intense athletes. One group to be on the lookout for is the one headed by the Never Quit Challenge founder Shawn Alladio. This team is comprised of war veterans who are mostly amputees. They raise money for wounded warriors. They are quite impressive to watch.

The Lake Havasu 2016 IJSBA Mark Hahn Memorial 300 begins with a LeMans start at 8am. The race is set up with tons of variables, including designated fuel stops, rough water conditions, changing of riders, etc, that means it is literally anyone's game to win. That's why all skill levels and vehicles are allowed in the competition. There really is nothing like it around!

You can cheer on your favorite athletes for free. However, there will be a day fee to enter the Crazy Horse Campground. Have fun!
