Ask an Ambassador: do other people know WHERE you in business?

I would hope that people know Sacramento is in California, although they might not know we have a Capitol here, LOL; yet everybody knows Elizabeth Weintraub and Sacramento go together like peas in a pod.

I think too often we assume people know where certain communities are, but for those not in the state, or perhaps even if they are, that's not always true.  And perhaps Google llkes if we share this info?

Tammy, very informative post and I hope all members read this. I like to know where members are located and I am sure the public does as well when reading AR posts.

Good point, there's no reason we should have to search to find out where someone is from.

Thanks for the reminder - I agree; sometimes I look at posters name and there is no location. It is an important detail to include.

I've seen this here on AR many times, Tammy Lankford, ... I have to go hunting to find out WHERE another member is from.  And sometimes even WHAT they actually do within our industry.  

I often wonder if I should write them a private note and point it out ... but I typically thing that's over-stepping boundaries.  LOVE that you remind people here .. I know it will help!

I've wasted far too much time searching people's profiles trying to figure out where they are from. This is so important!  Some people you don't even know what state they are in!

Bless you for pointing out the obvious....obviously I'm not thinking things all the way through! Thank you - thank you - thank you. Off to do a quick fix!

Tammy Lankford, - Good tip for the majority of folks on AR. I have the opposite challenge! Most profiles, like AR , require a specific location, where I work internationally but am challenged to let people know I'm NOT just practicing in Oregon.  I also get pesky calls from sales folks wanting to sell me "local leads" or "local advertising." When I tell them I don't want to promote my business locally they are quite confused.

Aloha Tammy, now see what you have done! I must have changed my tag line 4 times since i first read your post. I'll probably change it another 4 times before I figure it out.
