Two Beautiful Cats for Adoption in Sacramento

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

My father was a horrible and evil person. He would ask me cruel questions and pose unlikely and hurtful scenarios just to be mean. Like when we were fishing one day out of a boat on Forest Lake (Minnesota) with my brother and our dog, Lulu, he threw Lulu into the water and told her to head toward me as I was swimming, thinking it was funny to watch the dog frantically paddle on my head and push me under the water.

Then he asked who would I save, if both Lulu and my brother were drowning, and I could save only one, which would it be. Questions that sound innocent but are nasty. Because we deal with enough heartbreak in our life we don't need to manufacture it. What is heartbreaking to me is these two beautiful cats are available for adoption in Sacramento and people are yelling at my client who is trying to find them a home.

You can read more about this and see the photos in my personal blog today at this link: Pair of Kitties for Adoption in Tahoe Park.

If I was anywhere nearby, I would take those adorable cats.  We are down to two cats after losing "Henry" last month (18 year old black cat; we took him in when he was 6 or 8 weeks old).   All of our cats are rescues, strays, "must find a home", etc.  We have had as many as four at a time.

Best to you for finding a home for those two!

Bad timing...  my neighbor is moving to South Florida.  We were chatting about it in the yard.  He said they won't be able to take their 3 cats, would I consider adopting at least one of them.  What he meant was, will I take all three.

I am going to have to defer to my neighbor.  That will max us out on cats.  I am so sorry to have given you false hope.  I trust that you can find a home for your client's cats.

Hi Elizabeth -- I'm sorry to read that sad story about your Dad's treatment towards you and your brother.  I do hope your friend is able to find a new home for her feline friends.

Michael Jacobs I had his number at an early age and was always smarter, which is what protected me in a way that my brother was not. It also helped me to develop empathy, as awful as he was.

Elizabeth - Sometimes I think the gods got it wrong when it was decided who would become parents.  I'm sorry you had those kinds of experiences with your father.  I though my dad was tough, but I evidently fared better than you!

Now, for those two gorgeous felines.  I hope they find wonderful homes really soon!

My Donald said the limit was three so I got an office cat where I have others to help and he doesn't have to, well except for vet visits and dropping off litter.  But we're up to 4 and of course the two giant dogs.  Both of which have recently run up some steep vet bills with major illnesses.  Oh well, I can't take it with me.

I hope those beautiful kitties find happy homes.

Good morning Elizabeth. Your story is tragic and I am sorry about the 2 kitties too. I hope Fred agrees to take them.

Myrl Jeffcoat We can compare war stories at our next lunch which, btw, when will that be??

Tammy Lankford, Office cats are not a viable option where our office is located, but that is a good idea! I also see people bring cats into the office and take them home again at night.

Thank you Sheila Anderson , yes, it would be nice if Fred Griffin agrees to take them. My client was planning to take them to the shelter on Wednesday but she now says she will board them through the 4th of July. I know she would be so much more relieved if they found a home.

We just adopted another dog this week from a new client (listing) who is relocating to an apartment in another state. This is a spritely 3 year old labrador retriever who has put new bounce into our yellow lab (10) and mixed-breed other one (8). Sorry, do not think a couple of kitties would fare well in this mix!

P.S. That might explain why your brother broke all ties to your family. That's harsh!

Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® Good thing you have a reliable partner to care for all those dogs while you're out galvanting around between Carmel and Hawaii selling real estate. I bet those dogs would love a couple of cats! The feeling might not be mutual though.

Sometimes local pet stores or veterinarians will take them and house them and feed them while showing them off for adoption.
