I once did a blog called Barbara S Duncan superstar real estate agents meets Robert Wadlow, the gentle giant. It was done in 2009 and has received 23,197 views. Now I need to call this one Barbara S Duncan, superstar real estate agent, meets Keo Arkansas's best piano player! My daughter and I made a trip to Keo, home of Morris's Antiques, where you can find the best and most beautiful antiques refinished in most cases and ready to reside in your home. I had not been to Keo in many years and was so surprised to find that the antique store has become HUGE. It stretches on and on through room after room and part of it is called Morris Antiques Museum.
The museum is delightful and we were amazed at the things we found in it. I loved finding this piano player who was patient and let me pose beside him on the piano bench. He was not even annoyed when I told him that I do not know a single note of music. Music class in my little school in Georgia must have been gathering in the auditorium and singing patriotic songs and counted for music. And in college, because I was an Art major, they did not make me take a single music class.
After our exploration we started to pay for a few small purchases and look at our final surprise. They still use an antique cash register.
This nice lady took our money, pushed a key, and a drawer below opened. She gave me permission to take this picture. I decided this thing would have been as complex and difficult to learn as the computer and the iphone are today. Perhaps harder!
There were also several other attractions at Keo, including a very nice dress shop and a wonderful place to eat that served homemade pies with inches of meringue piled high as the sky! Go............you'll love it. Population? Slightly over 200 people!
