First Friday at the HISAM

Shoji Ledward

6:00 - 9:00 PM

Live music featuring Shoji Ledward, expert guitar and ukulele player. Shoji's first CD was nominated for Nā Hōkū Hanohano best jazz recording. He is currently working on a second CD.

6:00 - 9:00 PM, second floor of the No 1. Capitol District building (250 South Hotel St., corner of Richards and S. Hotel). Free and open to the public. HiSAM galleries will be open (admission is always free). Parking available across the street in the Ali'i Place building (enter at 1099 Alakea St., cash only) or metered street parking in the area. Several bus lines stop in front of or close to the building.

Aloha Will, the HISAM is the perfect spot to start a First Friday evening. After the concert one can then move down to Chinatown for the Art Gallery and Bar events for First Friday.

Aloha Tammy, our First Friday is more of a pub/gallery crawl but the HiSAM is a little more gentrified and slightly removed from the revelers cavorting a few blocks away in Chinatown, where the bulk of the First Friday events take place.
