Video Market Update on Luxury Home Sales in Charlotte, North Carolina

Charlotte region saw a slow down in luxury home sales in the month of July. As the Charlotte market was strong for all other price points, it's too early to determine just yet if the slow down is due to the time of year (summer) or due to a resistance towards higher priced home.
- The number of sales of luxury homes decreased 1% year-over-year.

Days on market were up 23% on a year-over-year basis.

Median list price for luxury homes was just under $1 million at $999,000 with a median sale price of $885,000.
- 51 homes priced between $1 and $2 million sold during the month of July and eight homes priced over $2 million sold in July 2016. This compares favorably with July 2015, when 39 homes priced between $1 and $2 million sold and was fairly flat compared with 10 homes priced over $2 million sold.
