I just recently got back from a trip to San Francisco for training at Google - between the seafood and the wonderful National Parks, I've got to say that I love California! Apparently, Californian home buyers agree with my assessment - they are overwhelmingly voting with their feet and buying homes right in the neighborhood.
I found this really handy infographic from the California Association of Realtors detailing folks moving around in the state.
What's surprising here:
Californians love the Sunshine State!
Overwhelmingly, Californians are buying homes and moving in right nearby. The most recent statistical workup shows that about 49% of Californians are buying homes not only in California, but just down the street in their same county. If you're in the neighborhood, make sure that you have nearby options with the right amenitiies!
Close to Home.
When Californians move out of state, they tend to move to neighboring states out west, like Oregon, Washington, or New Mexico. Getting ready for an interstate move is tough stuff, even when it's relatively close. Our long distance moving partners over at Broadway Moving in Stockton CA recommend a few steps to take the stress out. When moving out-of-state, an insured mover gives you peace of mind that anything lost or damaged in transit will be replaced. Ditto for a well-rated mover, be sure to read their reviews to be sure that they take care of their customers.
