Gratitude, Day 2 - my team

With our 10 day gratitude challenge on day 2, I wanted to give some props to the team of people around me that allows my business to grow, my sanity to remain in tact (most days), and most of my days in a crazy industry to be good days.

In-OfficeMortgage Team

In my office I've got a few people who are of great help to me.  My processor, Shelley, lets me bug her all day, puts out fires, answers questions, and constantly helps me get loans over hurdles that pop up along the way.  My assistant Cristy helps me with the thing I hate most about our industry - the paperwork and the follow up when it comes to conditions.  Both of these gals know the business, do their job well, and help to improve the loan process for every client.

Our branch manager Chuck goes above and beyond when it comes to getting exceptions for pricing, implementing changes at the corporate level through our feedback (believe it or not, we're not perfect!  Yet!), and keeps the office moving.

In-house

Though not sitting next to me, I've got an exemplary operations staff in San Ramon that also help each and every day.  Our underwriting manager works to solve especially tricky files and answers all of my (and a bunch of other LOs) 'what if' situations and "hey, I have this file, can you take a look at the numbers to make sure things match up with what I have...." moments.  This is a HUGE help when it comes to preapprovals and having a very high % of submitted loans get to the closing table.

Our ops managers, closing team, and CEO are all always a phone call away, they're great people, and they work so hard to make Mason McDuffie one of the best lending operations in the country.

Just last night I was working with our closing manager on getting a CD out at 730pm, and she was nowhere near calling it a day - we spoke again today at 10am and she had already been in the office for almost 2 hours.  These people BUST THEIR TAILS to get as much done as they can.

Out-of-house

My website provider, my CRM support team, and our credit vendor are not in-house, but I consider them vital parts to my team - my CRM & website team help keep my marketing moving and business growing, and our credit vendors help get deals done that otherwise would be put on hold (many of them indefinitely).

The JM Loans team is a success because of all of the people I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with and to have support me in my ultimate goal, which is to make sure that 1) people get the loan products they apply for, and 2) they have immediate access to any help they need along the way, and are made to feel like I'm here to help, not hinder, their home buying efforts.  Regulations, time restrictions, and market changes have made the mortgage process far more tedious than it should be, but every day I'm grateful to have a team that allows me to operate with a tagline that we structure our business around - #MortgageMadeEasy

It's more than a house - it's home.  So we offer a wide range of mortgage products at competitive prices to help our clients achieve financial security at home.  While we get great feedback on our prices and products, many clients say their favorite part of working with John Meussner & MasonMac is the level of service provided along the way.

John, it is so healthy to appreciate the people around you.  For one to think their success is of all their own doing is so innapropriate, not only for the people who help, but mostly for the the person thinking so.  Mark

Agreed, Mark.  No loan officer is worth their salt without a good team around them.
