A Painting - Christmas Spirit Shop, "Before and After".
As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most. I have painted several nostalgic businesses around the country, many of them commissioned. The Christmas Spirit Shop is located in downtown Bar Harbor and was used for a Christmas theme that I created in 1998 and was used for the cover of Sunshine Artist magazine in their December 1999 issue. The original painting (24"x36") was sold at the State Street Art Fair in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I have been asked, on occasion, how I was able to create my paintings. This series show the actual place and the final painting, to show the comparison. Most of my paintings were made from, as many as 12 photographs taken from different angles, as well as closeup shots. These are the before and after shots.
