Just wait to you see these pictures from of our job in Wheaton, IL. I am so excited tot alk about this job we did. I have some before pictures as well. When I went to do the estimate I did not think of the slate flooring having any wax on it since the client had mentioned to me that they have never waxed it before. So as I walked through the house I did not tice the floor having wax on it but kind of dismissed it, since the client said she had not waxed it.
I knew that by not paying more attention to the wax on this that it would create problems. Good problems. So we had Jim and Ashton at the job who are the newest members of the team. When I say new, new to Granite Heroes. Jim has been with us for about 6 months and he just started going out on his own with a helper. Ashton has been with us for about 2 months. So it was a good situation for Jim to be in and go throug the steps he learned and problem solve this. So I got to the job around 2pm expecting for the team to be almost done with the job.
They were going on there 6th time of stripping the floor. They were on their hand and knees crubbing off old wax. We finally got it all off, and applied a coat of acrylic sealer to the floor and 2 coats of a special slate wax. It looks awesome. Check out the pictures. The customer was upfront and happy that she came to me and said "Mike I want to pay more, you guys were here working so hard that i do not feel right paying what you quoted me. " for the first time I found myself speechless and in shock. I told the client that I rather have her tip Jim and Ashton then pay us directly to the company. Jim & AShton were very happy to receive a nice tip.
