An Interesting and Clever Closet in San Gabriel CA

I first visited the property I just listed at 9128 Southview Road in San Gabriel about three years ago to discuss recent sales in the neighborhood and the area real estate market. My client wasn’t quite ready to sell at the time. In the meantime, I sent periodic real estate updates. Times changed and the home came on the market for sale this past Sunday.

Among the many things, I noticed on that initial visit was the closet in the front bedroom. Yes, a closet. You see when the home was originally constructed in 1949, this was the master bedroom for the home. It was thoughtfully expanded to its current configuration of three bedrooms and two baths in 1988.

Okay now back to the closet...when closed, the closet looks pretty typical but it rotates like a lazy susan when opened. Kinda cool and it’s always fun(for me) to explain the interesting and unique features found in a home. Yes, I admit it. I can be easily entertained at times.

That is a very cool closet and a lazy susan is right. Although, Susan should be able to get a lot of her items in that very innovative space. What a surprise it must be to open that closet door for the first time. :)

Oh, what great use of space, Michael and I agree, I would have been entertained too!

The 'inquirer' in me would ask, what happens when the lazy susan part is filled with clothing and shoes? What kind of support was used? I would love to have something like this built!

Michael, lazy susans have ALWAYS been space-efficient and this is yet another example of that. Love it! I've never seen it and like you, it's kinda cool and fun and I, too, would point it out to would-be buyers.

Michael Jacobs - I'm guessing some devoted spouse had this closet designed specifically for the mate. I have never seen anything like this one before. Although, back in the 70's I did see a custom closet created by man for his wife to help her feel glamorous. I never saw so many lights in one closet, a built in vanity dresser, and mirrors. You just never know what you will find behind closed doors!
