Visit Uxbridge and Leaskdale the weekend of June 14th and 15th and enjoy 100 Years of "Anne in Uxbridge" and old fashioned celebration of Canada's favourite pigtailed young redhead and her accomplished creator.

You can take a train ride with ANNE on the York Durham Heritage Railway, participate in the ANNE look alike contest, or treat yourself to some old time raspberry cordial and ice cream. There's a soap box derby, a duck race, pony rides, hay bale rolling, displays of vintage cars and airplanes. The main stage will feature singers, musicians and entertainers with Ted Barris (a popular CBC personality) as Master of Ceremonies. Uxbridge stores will be offering specials both days.

There is a garden tour in Leaskdale with six gardens open to the public, some modern some very old fashioned.

SOAP BOX DERBY
May 21st register for the Rotary Soap Box Derby at the Town Hall for $10 (you must be registered to participate in the derby) download the entry form here view the rules and specs here
Need help there is a free construction workshop on May 28th at 6:30 pm @ 6500 concession 6
The actual derby will take place on June 14th at 1:00pm on the Brock St Hill

ANNE

The play "ANNE" depicts the turn of the century life in PEI with an older Anne returning to PEI from College to meet up with her childhood friends. The play is directed by Uxbridge's own Conrad Boyce. Conrad, an actor and impresario, is also editor of the local Cosmos newspaper
