Well ... it's OFFICIAL! Millennials have surpassed Baby Boomers as the largest generation in the history of the United States!
What exactly is a Millennial? They are American Youth born between 1982 and 2000 and they now represent more than one quarter of the nations population with a total of 83.1 Million!
In recent years there has been a lot of talk about this generation launching into adulthood much slower than previous generations.
But ... now they are moving out in droves! So much so that last year they were a whopping 61% of "First Time Home Buyers in America! The median age those buyers were 31 years old.
A few signifigant factors may have contributed to this .... one of them being the median age of Americans getting married for the first time has increased from men 23 and women 20 in 1955 to men 29 and women 27 in 2015.
It is believed that Millennials will continue to drive the housing market next year, as well as in the years to come. As more and more realize that owning a home is within their reach.
