Palos Verdes residents are aware that our community safety depends on both law enforcement and citizen organizations. The National Night Out program is an annual community building campaign that promotes police & community parnerships to make our neighborhoods safer. This idea helps to enhance neigborhood relationships to bring back a true sense of community, plus it provides a great opportunity to bring everyone together under positive circumstances. Neighbors can meet one another and get their community sense going to prevent crime from happening within their neighborhoods.
This program is held in all 50 states and every U.S. military base. In Palos Verdes Estates, the event will be held in neighborhoods around the city on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. On the Palos Verdes Peninsula there will be many different locations which will host large parties where groups can gather and get to know one another. Your local block captain will be inviting you to be a part of the event. In some neighborhoods there will be cookouts, ice cream socials and other family fun. One of the many highlights of the evening will be participation by the Mayor and the City Council. You will also probably get a visit at yout location from police personnel, firefighters, paramedics, and city officials.
This is a great time to show your neighborhood spirit by either helping to host or attending one of the parties. For more information contact your city officials to find out the event location.
