Palos Verdes Peninsula residents are looking forward to the annual Portuguese Bend National Horse Show that will be held at Ernie Howlett Park, beginning on Friday, September 7, through Sunday, September 9, 2018. This prestigious A-rated event offers three full days of a wide variety of special equestrian events. The show offers activities in both riding rings including the prestigious Pacific Coast Horse Association Horsemanship Medal Finals for riders 14 and under and the PCHA Victor Hugo Vidal Adult Horsemanship Class for riders 35 and over. In addition, the $10,000 Harman Family Jr-A/O Jumper Classic and the $15,000 Seahorse Jumper Classic promise to challenge some of the West Coast’s finest Jumper riders over a difficult and exciting course.

This show is the most popular three day event of its kind in the Western United States. Riding events will begin at 7:30 a.m. each day. On Friday admission is free all day, but on Saturday and Sunday, general admission will be $5 and children under 12 are free. Parking is free and is located directly across from the event, with free shuttle services. You can also reserve ringside tables. Each day’s special event schedule and shows can be found at www.pcch.net, or call (310)-318-8258.

This is a great family event where you will get the feel of an old fashioned hometown fair with food booths, hay bale, boutique, Frankie Foti Master Magician, Jim Gamble Marionettes & John Chambers and the Wonderful World of Puppets, pony rides, games, moon bounce, face painting, and North America Wildlife with live animals from around the world. The Children’s Area is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday & Sunday, and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. This event is sponsored by The Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital to benefit the Associates Sarcoma Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. This program is working to improve the outcome of children battling this aggressive form of childhood cancer. Ernie Howlett Park is located at 25851 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rolling Hills Estates.

This is just another one of the Palos Verdes Peninsula’s wonderful community events that you can enjoy while living here. If you are interested in buying or selling your home, or have any questions about residential or commercial real estate please feel free to contact me at (310) 686-4688.
