Remember | Honor | Teach
A beautiful post for all to read and to REMEMBER, HONOR, AND TEACH.....
Today is NATIONAL WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA DAY. This day is observed annually on the 3rd Saturday in December, National Wreaths Across America Day is a movement to cover all Veterans grave markers with a Christmas wreath. Remember & Honor.
The ceremonies begin at 12:00 noon EST. Wreaths Across America began with the intent to place a wreath on each grave at Arlington National Cemetery. The movement has expanded way beyond that now with hundreds of communities participating across the country & placing wreaths on their community veteran graves. I'm told there will be 1.8 million wreaths placed today across the nation.
This year in Georgetown, MA there were enough donations raised to ensure all our Veteran grave have a wreath. We have graves that go back to the 1700s. We have a number of veterans participating in the ceremonies. We will teach the scouts and others that when placing a wreath take 2 steps back, salute and say the veterans name.
I pray that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and bless you with peace
