The Future of Work: Where Are We Headed

As the world continues to change and rely on technology, experts will continue to question the future of work. In this post I am going to discuss the future of work and where it is going.

) Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is still in its infancy, but it’s potential is unlimited. AI has opened up opportunities for creative people to be creative because they no longer have to solve repetitive problems. For example, companies are turning to AI to solve common technology problems like resetting passwords or entering data.

The world of work is rapidly changing as people are being taken out of mindless jobs so they can be used to their fullest capacity. Even though AI is reducing low-skilled jobs, it is adding new career opportunities.

2) Skills Gaps

Another issue with the world of work is the wide range of employee skills. Highly-skilled workers are necessary and there aren’t enough of them. Employers are fighting over the highly-skilled workers by offering them higher pay and better benefits. Unfortunately, this leaves unskilled workers with low-paying jobs.

Employers are looking for ways to reduce skills gaps by providing training for employees who want to learn. Employees at all skill levels can benefit from boosting their soft skills, especially flexibility when being asked to work in different departments.

3) Logistics

Logistics continues to be an area that is growing. As business functions on a global scale, companies need to manage how they get products from point A to point B. But, logistics does not just involve transporting finished goods. It also involves how companies get their raw materials and necessary parts so they can manufacture their goods in one location.
