October 15th is National I Love Lucy Day!
I Love Lucy ran from October 15th 1951 thru May 6, 1957 180 episodes! While I am too young to have seen an original broadcast, I saw many of the reruns during my youth. Most were entertaining! :)
One of the controversial parts of the show was showing a pregnant woman on TV. Times sure have changed :) Before the episode aired, the studios consulted with network sensors and religious organizations and the plan was to define Lucy as expecting , rather than being pregnant.
I Love Lucy is was one of America's most popular sitcoms.
The only part of the show that I recall was not a favorite of mine, was when Lucy would fake cry... With a loud whiney Whaaaaaaa. Not sure why that bothered me, it just did. All in all I really enjoyed the show, and the characters.
Do you now have the itch to watch some episodes of I Love Lucy? Well HULU is streaming all six seasons! I think Amazon Prime may have "The Best of Lucy" a few of the more popular episodes. Paramount Plus also has a few available.
Maybe binge watching is in your future? Going to be rainy here the next few days, get some tomato soup and grilled cheese sit back and enjoy! :)
I know this ran in the 50's but there is a program on The National Geographic Channel that covers 70's TV. I hope to watch that someday soon. That covers many more sitcoms that were in my wheel house.
ARIZONA REALTORS and LENDERs- I can have these made up for you as well without my company branding. It is a great fun way to stay top of mind by posting on social media daily, and it isn't just about work, the market etcetera. Show your clients that you have a silly side!
