Every morning it is important, to me, to start off the day on a positive way. Bright and early, my lab, Jack, wakes me up. You can't help but smile because he is so enthusiastic and happy about this new day! After taking care of his morning needs, I ready myself for the day. Some mornings, I go out for coffee and breakfast. Over the years, I have been fortunate to meet really good friends. It has become a tradition to see this people who greet you with a friendly smile. Almost like an extended family.
Today, our regular breakfast spot was closed due to the holiday. We headed toward our holiday meeting place, Friendly's, by the Buckland Hills Mall. It is always open on holidays, which works out well for those of us who like to treat ourselves to breakfast. The restaurant opens at 7 a.m. There were more people there this morning, than usual. It was raining this morning, maybe, that had some influence on it. Our friends came in, were directed by the hostess to a booth. Oops! They realized they could sit with us because in Friendly's, two booths can become one, simply by removing the center divider. So, they moved themselves next to us. It worked out perfectly. The waitress didn't mind.
Lena had the Yankee Doodle Dandy tune stuck in her head. She sang it to Larry and Carol as MaryAnne and I just laughed. The waitress joined in, too. The waitress was a dynamo. We were amazed and pleased at her good service. Food was delicious and hot.
This is not the usual way that most people start out on a holiday, but, I am not a usual person") We did invite our group of breakfast buddies, but today, some of them must have slept in. Maybe, they showed up later.
Cookout for supper with my kids and then, back to work tomorrow. Hope you see some of your good friends and get to share a song or a laugh or two, today!
