Aurora Named To Money Magazine's Best Place to Live List - Top 100!

Real Estate Agent with Graham Real Estate Group

No Surprises that Aurora, the second largest city in Illinois made the annual list published by Money Magazine, citing the Nations "Best Places To Live".  Aurora ranked #74 on the prestigeous list.  Only 5 cities made the list for the entire state of Illinois - including neighboring Naperville (#3), Wheaton(#54), Bolingbrook(#32) and Orland Park(#92).

Criteria for the selections include "plentiful jobs, excellent schools, affordable housing - America's best small cities have all that and more."

WINNER Top 100 rank: 74 Population: 170,600 Compare Aurora to Top 10 Best Places At the crossroads of city and country, Aurora is on the fringe of the Illinois Research & Development Corridor, a major stretch of intellectual and corporate brainpower. As one of the first cities in Illinois to implement an all-electric street lighting system, Aurora is nicknamed "The City of Lights." And it keeps the flame alive downtown with entertainment at the Paramount Theatre and Hollywood Casino. Downtown Alive, a free festival that includes live music and a variety of food booths, is held every Friday night in the summer. The only downside? A lingering reputation for crime, despite declines in the last six years.
