Have an "Attitude of Gratitude!"

Tracy and I were out for lunch the other day, and we ran into a Real Estate Agent we know that has done a very good business in the past.  So what you may say, the difference was he was our server.  Not a big deal, I understand everybody has to do what they have to do too support their family.  The part both Tracy and I had a hard time with was the attitude.

Numerous times he talked about how horrible the market is.  That got Tracy and I too talking after our food arrived.  Why is it, in this changing market, we are thriving?  In fact we are 60% higher in Pending and SOLD homes versus where we were at this time last year.  Whats the difference?  Has the market improved?  We think so, but, the more we talked over lunch, the more we realized, it isn't the market changing, it is US changing!

Both Tracy and My attitudes have done a 180 from last year, we make it a point every day to have "An attitude of Gratitude!"  This is what we contribute our having a much better year so far this year, than last year!  What is an "Attitude of Gratitude?"  It's waking up every morning, and before your feet hit the ground your thoughts immediately go to what you are thankful for.  Whether it is good health, family, or friends, we ALL have so much in our lives that is good.  Sometimes you just have to look a little harder!  I truly believe, that this attitude has spilled over from our personal lives to our business lives.

Here is to you making today a great day, and that you too, have an "Attitude of Gratitude!"

This is a great post and I am very glad to see things like this being said. It is so true that we all should have positive attitudes about everything we do in our jobs. What we think becomes our reality. This "slowing down of the market" has only weeded out people who were riding the market increases of years past and leaving the proven and valuable professionals.

It is always sad to see others leave, but at the same time it is refreshing to know that we have even more opportunity to grab a bigger share of the business they are leaving behind.
