Gold Beach Real Estate - About Gold Beach

By
Real Estate Agent with Rogue Sportsman's Realty

You probably have heard about the "banana belt" that stretches along Southern Oregon coast from Brookings to Port Orford? It has a temperate year-around climate, with plenty of sunshine in the summer and very mild winters. Gold Beach is smack in the middle of this "banana belt", enjoying more sunshine hours then any other town on the Oregon or Washington coast. Our summer temperatures are pleasant 65 - 70 degrees - perfect for outdoor explorations, or for not sweating while standing still. And if you like to watch a good ocean storm, you can have a front row seat during winter months from many of Gold Beach homes. Best of all, you can watch migrating whales from your living room.

The Rogue river, known worldwide for salmon fishing, lures people from all over for their chance to get a trophy steelhead, chinook or coho salmon. Can you imagine how nice it is to have such a fisherman paradise in your backyard? The Rogue river meets the ocean right in town and some Gold Beach homes are located near the best fishing spots. The average catch is 20 pounds, and you don't have to be too lucky to get one as big as 40 pounds!

Prefer ocean fishing? Ocean charter season is year-around in Gold Beach. You can count on bringing back home some rock fish and ling cod after venturing just a few miles offshore.

Beautiful mountains, full of tasty wildlife, serve as a backdrop, while miles of sandy beach with hardly anyone around lay in front of Gold Beach. You can walk from your home in Gold Beach to many pristine wilderness spots. Miles of hiking, backpacking and mountain biking trails are there for you to explore. If you like getting wet, swimming, whitewater rafting and windsurfing opportunities abound.

For more civilized sport enthusiasts, we have the Cedar Bend Golf Course just ten miles north of town, sporting the best greens on the Oregon coast. That, and the chili they serve at a full-snack bar make it the best golf course all-around. At least we think so. And you haven't been there yet, so you can't prove us wrong. If you don't mind a short scenic drive, you'll find a few more fine golf courses in the area.

Bird watchers will find 250 species of birds in Curry county, half of which is National Forest.

Gardeners will be delighted with over 300 days of growing season and the soil to die for.

In case you manage to pull a hamstring during your outdoor adventures, Gold Beach has the only hospital in Curry county, Curry General Hospital. For regular tune-up and health maintenance, there is North Bend Medical Clinic with several physicians and support staff. For extreme emergencies, air transit Cal-Ore Life Flight is standing by to whisk you to nearby Medford. Not that you would, but you could.

Gold Beach is still a small town where folks know and care about each other and welcome new residents. The crime rates are so low, you don't have to worry if you forget to lock your car, or house, while picking up some snacks at the store.

Not into paying taxes either? Property taxes in Curry County are the lowest in Oregon ($6.80 to $10.80 per $1000 of assessed value), which makes the cost of owning a Gold Beach home more affordable.

Calling Gold Beach your home not only would give you access to some of the most pristine and beautiful places on Oregon coast, but would allow you to have much higher quality of life at a different pace. Don't you deserve it?

Kevin Sandridge's Facebook profileKent, Welcome to the Rain!

Kevin Sandridge, here.  I joined the Active Rain community not too long ago myself and wanted to drop a line to share some of the good vibes and welcome wishes I have received already.

I'm very excited about this community - basically because folks seem so willing to help out, provide industry insight, and share their good news and experiences!

You may want to check your formatting... seems, at least on my screen, your posts range far right - requiring a good bit of horizontal scrolling... ?

A few things:

One:  Be sure to include a good amount of information on your profile page.  Check out the profiles on other Realtor's sites here on Active Rain who are listed as "Featured" or "Tops" in their area (look for high point totals).  You'll find that this will seriously boost your presence on ActiveRain - via the added points.

Two: I urge you to keep blogging on this site!  You will be AMAZED at the awesome feedback you receive very soon after they hit the network!  I use Google Reader to subscribe to blogs that provide me with ideas about what I'd like to comment on - both industry wise and just for fun!  Check it out I am more than willing to step you through the site and to help you get a few more blog posts generated if you wish - as a way of adding some value and paying forward some good networking vibes!  :)

Three: Be sure to add in a good number of posts about what you think and consider pertinent regarding your area of expertise!  You'll notice that many if not all of the Featured posting bloggers here on AR do this.

Lastly, I do quite a lot of work via social networks, email campaigns, and relationship building.  If I can ever be of any assistance, don't hesitate to ask.

Looking forward to what you'll share with us all here on Active Rain!  :)

Blessings,

Kevin Sandridge
