Stretch Island, Grapeview, Washington grapes

By
Real Estate Agent with Windermere Peninsula Properties

One thing that Grapeview has produced for over 100 years is grapes.  The Island Belle variety was developed here.  I have just gone out the Stretch Island for my annual grape picking and again enjoyed the peacefulness of the island, the delicious taste of the grape.  Only once have I made homemade wine from them, but it was exquisite.

That is a great Photo of the Island Belle. A hardy tasty grape and makes a fine northwest wine.

These grapes are growing wild up in the trees from the old vines on Stretch Island.  At one time, there were vineyards all over the island and Grapeview mainland.
